As a Rocana Sales Engineer you will utilize your strong technical, business competencies and customer service orientation to provide the highest level of business and technical consultation to sales teams, prospects and customers to support sales goals. You will work on cross-functional teams including Sales, Product Management, Product Marketing, Services, Business Development, Training and Engineering to create solutions that provide immense business value. You will become intimately acquainted with customer’s business requirements, technical needs, systems, environment and service history, enabling you to present targeted business solutions. A successful Sales Engineer has the heart of a salesperson wrapped in the mind of an IT pro.


Responsibilities

  • Working with customers, partners, and prospects to understand and propose solutions using Rocana technologies
  • Map customer requirements to current and future offerings
  • Educate prospects on the business value of Rocana’s offeringsDrive progress towards successful sales, in concert with Account Executives
  • Focus on customer satisfaction and successContinuously learn and update skills in quickly evolving technologies

Qualifications

  • Ability to switch context quickly throughout the day with numerous competing demands
  • Minimum 3 years experience and success working in a customer-facing role
  • Hands-on, technical, problem solverDevelopment experience with Java / OO programming
  • Unix/Linux expertise a must
  • Comfortable working with customers and public speaking
  • Demonstrated experience gathering and understanding customer business requirements
  • Experience with data warehousing and relational database architectureKnowledge of distributed systems
  • Knowledge of ETL and ETL workflows

  • Experience with many of the following:
  • Oracle, MySQL or PostgreSQL
